Hi,

I have a pair of CCR that I think are the same or similar to the Anytone 878. I am going to de-assemble them in the next day or so and want input on what to remove. Once I get them appart I will post picture of the chipset or compair them to the AT878 picture on the internet.

In picture (pic) 04 I need to remove the two torque screws at bottom and in pic 02 the nuts from the selector and volume pot, plus the antenna nut, correct?

What do users us as the tool to remove the nuts. I know I can us some small needle nose pliers but is there an actual tool out there specifically for these nuts?

TIA Special_Eye

Regarding tools, the short answer is yes. A pair of "reverse pliers" should suffice for your needs: https://www.amazon.com/KNIPEX-Tools-4611A3-Retaining-8-25-Inch/dp/B0002YYMDK/

Motorola sells specific bits for the exact dimensions of the nuts they use on the volume and RF connector for the APX. I am not sure if they are the same as the nuts on your CCR. You probably wouldn't want to buy theirs anyway... they cost an an arm and a leg, unsurprisingly. I service control tops fairly frequently and invested in them, and they do the job well, but the tool linked above or something similar is a better bet when you are only doing this occasionally.

Last night I ordered a tool out of China that has four different bit types. But I will also try to hunt down a similar pair to the Knipex tool at work today.
