I already wrote about solving this problem.

The gold-plated surface of channel switch’s code disc is quickly wears in radio DP3600 / DP3601.
Radio is spontaneously switching to lower-numbered channels. Only on channel "1" this defect is not observed.
Channel switches replacement is very consuming operation.

I’ve found a nice solution to this problem:
- Each channel is placed in a separate zone;

- Assign zone name same as the corresponding channel name;
- Appoint one of the buttons for selecting zones;
- Set channel switch to position “1” and do not use it anymore;
- Now paging zones buttons "<-", "->" and pressing "OK" button is a choice of channels;
Note: Zones in the radio always automatically arranged in alphabetical order, regardless of their location in the CPS.

Excuse me for my English.

I believe the FSB clearly specifies free depot replacement for affected serial ranges and units. I don't find that to be very consuming, but I guess others may have a different situation...

I would suspect our overseas friends do not have the luxury of a depot in country, and certainly would not get anywhere with a North American Field Service Bulletin

Not to mention the posted FSB appears to have expired 7/31/15, anyone else now reading this thread does not have the option of sending the unit in.

I will also now note that following Motorola's disassembly procedures are garbage and can damage the radio permanently if you are unlucky with your hot air gun and the switch falling off the board takes a pad or two with it

escomm is spot on. Personally the 6000 series were always just a P.I.T.A.... Gen2 quality and overall improvements are something to be said for, though. 7550 gets. Hytera is also a fantastic runner up.
