Hi,

Just another day when an interesting question come across the desk - can Motorola trbo (or other makers DMR radio) have the ability to do store and forward of GPS data when used in an AVL setup.

Background - when radio leaves repeater coverage (say going around back of hill) they want the radio to continue to collect GPS data and when back in range upload it across the radio the data. they are looking at replacing there 3g avl solution with something a little more productive for there drivers plus address OH&S issues with providing an emergency button functionality.

I have seen third party boxes which connect in via mic lines etc but would rather keep with a all-in-one solution.

cheers

http://trbonet.com/ can do it. The solution requires you to install the generic option board into each radio and load it up with the TRBONet Swift.Tracker firmware.
