I think he should have used Araldite on the bracket in case the 8 screws worked loose! He even saved you the crappy original Motorola terminal connectors too, how thoughtful.

It's not like installer didn't think of the ergonomics for the driver of a large truck.

Let me lean down so my eyes are below the dash level so I can adjust my radio at highway spee....


Also learned from another tech: Use 6 or 8 inch long screws for an under-dash mount so you can pierce good things like refrigerant lines.

I suppose it depends on the contract language and the bidding process. You would think these days there would be a performance clause that allowed an agency to immediately drop a contractor that failed to comply with the agreed standards. But, legal may not have given it more than a glancing review before approving the language.

I wrote an installation spec that is supposed to be followed. I am still chasing stuff. This install was done before me. I wouldn't allow this.

First question, WHY are YOU fixing this?? I would have taken pictures, sent them to the contractor and demanded they make it right. And they NOT send the same people back... ever to your site. My shop would fire people for doing this sort of work or at least I would hope they would.
