MotoTRBO I will throw this SL7550 out the window

I'm trying to figure out what the heck is wrong with a subscriber. Basically, it works perfectly BUT it can't receive text messages.

• I created my own config and wrote it by USB cable and put it on my test simplex frequency
• It will not receive a text in any circumstance
• It will send a text but it'll stay pending forever even though the other radio gets it fine
• It can be radio checked, remote monitored, enabled and disabled
• It can be pinged
• It can be used as a control station and send/receive ARS and ping other radios but is completely unable to OTAP another radio or to be OTAPed itself
• It can send and receive private calls, radio checks, remote monitors...

I have no other SL7550 to test and diagnose, so I'd love if you could go with any suggestions. The config is unique to this one (not having any other) but there is ZERO difference on the 4 test channels I tried on with two XPR7550e's that work perfectly. Latest FW (2020.02) on everything.

Help me before I murder this radio.

Question, is the XPR 5550e text message format different than Gen1 TRBO radios?

I recently acquired an XPR5550e UHF, firmware version R02.07.03.0000. Radio seems to work very well, but for some unknown reason, to me at least, none of my 6550 can send text messages to the 5550e, nor the 5550e can send messages to the 6550. The 5550e shows the "waiting" animation until it...

It's unchecked. Replicated the XPR7550e settings exactly and it's still not working. I'll need to find a sample codeplug and redo the whole thing from scratch.

Don't use a sample codeplug. If you need a fresh start recover the radio.

So after doing a Compare of the codeplug in RM that was identical, I did a Read/Generate/Apply job on the SL and I applied the network page from the XPR set. After writing it back to the radio, it works.

Weirdly enough, if I reapply the original configuration and do a Compare to last programmed, there isn't anything different. So I have no clue what got messed up, but if you encounter the same thing this might be something to try.
