Hi Guys,

After about a 4 x month hiatus ... "I'm ... back" ...

I must say selling up and moving house must have much better alternatives! :(

Even while I've been away, my mate Phill must have handed out well over 100 x TransTRBO licences to volunteer/amateur groups - and IMO I agree and I support his decisions 100%.
They include the Red Cross in several UK & European countries, Scout and church groups plus a heap of Search and Rescue groups throughout the globe and I'm pleased to say - Australia as well.

I no longer have a separate CVS server and now run most things over wireless at home and have also moved from CVS to "git".

Also several freeware http://trbotools.com apps will be revisited and made appropriate and then I'll be able to release them under my Motorola "Licensed Developer Agreement" ...

Those that were aware of XcmpXnl.exe, please consider what you would like to see in a "Remote Radio Head" application, similarly with those other http://www.trbotools.com applications that were useful. /V\otorola don't object to my apps as long as they have "seen" them and don't object to them - if they do - I will immediately delete then.

To me and to you amateurs and volunteer groups - this is indeed a community commitment from /V\otorola - so thanks Motorola APAC and EMEA.

cheers
Will B

For those who are interested:-

I am now in the final stages of coding/testing a Web Registration and Update interface between TTServer/TTService and this Web Site (http://www.transtrbo.com).

FYI: It uses the Windows Version of OpenSSL on the TTService/TTServer(client end) and a PHP version of OpenSSL on the Web Server end.

The knowledge I've gained here should now allow "Secure" connections between the TTServer/TTService server and any of its networked clients.

When this is working to my satisfaction, I will be seeking some volunteers to test the basic Windows networked Server and clients.
(To Volunteer: Please contact me via my personal email or from here: http://www.transtrbo.com/support.php ).

TTService SERVER
The TT/Service/Server must run on the Windows OS - I'm not sure how it will handle a VM atm.

The current Server MOTOROLA(TM) DMR functionality is Radio Control and Voice only.

TTService CLIENTS
The ASCII, UNICODE and Binary Protocol API between network clients and server will be published for those users wishing to write their own Network client applications i.e. on other platforms or in other languages.

The MFC VC++ Source project for the basic Windows Network client will initially be available to developers - "on request".

Future
The Digital aspects: GPS, Text, ARS are not as complex and hopefully will follow soon.

cheers
Will B

P.S. Please remember the TransTRBO Dispatcher/Voice/Record/GPS/Text/ARS is free to bona fide Volunteer groups and 'HAMS' :D

I see that the trbotools.com site is unavailable until further notice. Does this mean the Motorola objected to them? Is there any hope of the contact list generator coming back now that the online one at trbolnk.com does not work either?

Hi Michael,

http://www.trbotools.com is unavailable due to my lack of time. /V\otorola(TM) and I have amicably worked out the problems and as soon as I get a chance - I'll massage some of those apps to the point they will align with my approved to produce portfolio.

Example below, is CSV output from the "Remote Radio Head" application and TTService/Server (uses a new and a superior algorithm to get "Contact" Types and numbers along with the name directly - from the radio etc).
Contacts.PNG

If the above example *.csv is what you are after, I may be able to send you privately, a copy of the incomplete "Remote Radio Head" application (which is based on XcmpXnl.exe).

cheers

I may have my wires crossed, but I was looking for the software that allowed anyone to download the user info from the DMR MARC user database and merge them into my code plug. I apologize if that wasn't your software that I am thinking of.

Hi Todd,

I got it and am very interested! :D

I went to bed with a bug in my code last night (Friday drinks night).
So, I'll get back to you more fully when I iron the blasted thing out of it!

BTW: Have you joined the http://www.transtrbo.com/forums/index.php yet?

cheers

Control your radio(s) remotely using Telnet?

And now for something completely different ... well almost

While nursing a nice cosy whiskey enhanced glow last night - I was wondering whether I could monitor/control a radio connected to TTServer using Telnet ...
The scary thing is I remembered it again when I awoke this morning (and with only a slightly sleazy feeling in the pit of my tummy :( ).

So I decided to ensure the TTServer Text parser could detect and handle CR, LF and CRLF as string suffixes ...
I was halfway through testing it when a couple of radio calls came in so I grabbed a screenshot and here it is below (both the TTServer App Dlg and my test ASCII Client are in the back ground)

So, I can now confidently claim that you can control your radio(s) using TTServer from a Telnet client.

Hopefully it will be available for testing in the next couple of days - for Hams who are interested.

cheers

Hi all,

Not much interest out there from any Radio Ham Programmers/Coders/Apps writers for testing this (Windows) application.

So I'll try again, are there any PHP, Pearl, C#, #VB, C, C++, 'Apple coders', 'Linux programmers' or other scripter/coders out there who want to communicate/control/monitor a Motorola(TM) DMR Base Station Radio(s) - from any OS over TCP/IP?

Oh well - now I've kicked off the Freeware Volunteer build for TransTRBO - I'll be getting back into creating a remote Windows app for this project.
More updates: http://www.transtrbo.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=46

I'll now start on a "Remote Radio Head" (RRH) that will be a remote App that communicates to Motorola(TM) radios via the TTServer/TTService App.

It will be based on the old XcmpXnl.exe basic front end but with Voice added, plus the 'remote' connection from the RRH to the TTserver.

I've released a couple of apps at http://www.trbotools.com and this will be added eventually.

cheers
