I have not had any luck finding anything other than an info brochure for the HPD1000 modem. I was hoping someone can provide me with a schematic/pinout for the head unit card edge connector.
If it's a still an available document, a part number would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

There is no head unit for the HPD1000. You talk to it via IP over Ethernet on the RJ45 or over USB. The 26 pin connector on the front is actually the same as the 26 pin connector on the rear of the XTL bricks (except the speaker connections don't do anything).

If I might probe your knowledge a bit more. The "head" I'm referring to is the GPS, Ethernet, LED, On/Off board.
I'm hoping some sort of filtered audio might be available to tap from the main board that it plugs on to?
I did find the lack of audio on the 26 pin connector. I have functional USB, but are the serial port pins also disabled
My end goal (since I already have the modem) is to use this unit to feed 700MHz control channel data to a computer. Any ideas/modifications (short of buying something :)) is appreciated.

As far as I know audio was never part of the HPD. Now because it is closely based on the XTL it's not impossible but since the 'modem' features were not implemented by decoding audio it seems unlikely. The modulation was decoded by the DSP from the IF.

Well, I thank you for the info. I was hoping when I bought it that it was similar to the way the VRM850 was setup.
Glad I didn't spend much on it.
