I have a site that I'm trying to implement enhanced privacy on. I have all of the radios reprogrammed and flashed to the latest firmware. I'm running into a weird issue on the one channel with enhanced privacy enabled that some radios will pick up the transmission of other users and some will not. All have the same key. Put 5 guys in a room and 3 of them might hear the person transmitting and the last 2 won't. All radios will see ID information that, the person is broadcasting. We're tried mixing different shoulder mics, different locations, all kinds of things and can't get any kind of consistency out of the issue. I know there are a lot of variables here but I was wondering if anyone had run into a similar problem before and might be able to help point me in the right direction.

Assuming they are talking through a repeater, it needs to be set for 'enhanced' privacy type in the codeplug.

The REPEATER codeplug needs to be set to ENHANCED from BASIC or NONE. The DEFAULT is BASIC. Everyone is correct, there is extra bits in the codeplugs being transmitted that are lost on occasion if the repeater is not set correctly.

Also, as recommended in the System Planner, make sure that all portions of your system including the repeaters do not have a large variance between firmware versions.

And also FYI for anyone reading this thread in the future: if using AES-256, you must also set the repeater for enhanced privacy.

Thank you all for the help. One last question, if the repeater is reprogrammed will that effect both of the trbo paths or can it be specified for just one of the channels?

It affects both timeslots.

Please use the correct terminology; there's no such thing as a "trbo path". Thank you.
