Yes, it can act as remote base / simplex with ip backhaul. First of all its very pricy. Almost GTR pricy. But its "public safety grade" DMR, arguably the best DMR infrastructure, with diversity receivers, simulcasting, and really tough and well engineered hardware.
Of course for bidding purposes those prices can change slightly for the right opportunity
But Mororola SLR is going to come out cheaper than Kairos, and take up a little less rack space too, because they are a different class.
Where Kairos comes out on top is cheaper software, better software, and more flexibility. More features, simulcasting, DMR AIS support, etc.
