Hi Group,

I am looking for a codeplug for an XPR6550 UHF 450-512 model AAH55TDH9LA1AN. I have tons of other codeplugs for anyone needing them, but this one I don't have and need it desperately. Any help will be very much appreciated.

Thanks:)

Once you find it, you know enough not to clone it into a radio with the latest firmware, right?

Hi Mars,

Thanks for the insight. Yes, my radio does not have the latest FW due too so many issues.

What issues are preventing you from loading the latest firmware? Trbo firmware is easily updated through CPS. And if you already have the radio, the recover option could have been used to load a stock codeplug.

I did get the FW upgraded now THANKS to you Cacciatore. Because I was able to get rid of the corrupt CP that was recently in the radio, load the one you sent in, then the radio was acting back too normal. The radio was giving a solid tone that would not shut off until the radio was turned off. I have never ran into an XPR with this issue before and I have programmed many of these. As crazy as it is, I have over 3000 different code plugs for different models but not this one. Again, Thank you very much for your help. This is a wonderful site and if I can be of any help, please feel free to ask away.

Mars, What would the issue be with that, other than audio fixes to the radio? We do it sometimes when we have a codeplug from a fleet that adds new radios and I haven't run into an issue, at least that I know of?

Moto makes many undisclosed changes to the XML (codeplug) with each codeplug version. (Codeplug versions are paired with specific firmware versions). When you clone old codeplugs into radios with new firmware/codeplugs, the older codeplug settings (hidden XML data) overwrite current values.

Those values may pertain to audio, trunking configuration, timing, etc. Once you do that, there's no way to fix it unless you have the original (current) codeplug version to dump back in. A "recovery" also fixes it.

Motorola has many issues with their TRBO platform which they have not disclosed to the customers. I have found, confirmed and reported the issues, but the people I report it to no longer acknowledge any communications from me. They are mostly incompetent, incapable, clueless fools who think they know it all. Unfortunately they don't, or I wouldn't be passing along those issues to them, or fixing the audio which they had about 8 years to fix on their own.

Hams who upgrade to the latest firmware, then dump cloned DMR-MARC templates back into their radios', are really just back at square one. And they say stupid shit like "I don't hear any difference". Most hams are kind of green, but it's up to Motorola to ensure certain XML fields are being preserved (not cloned) during the cloning operation.

Mars,

Thank you, that is really good info - thank you for sharing it. I guess the safest way to go is drag and drop. It just sucks doing that especially with needing to carry over other advanced settings. Wonder when they are going to fix this issue.
