Looking for configuration examples of CapPlus + Enhanced GPS

Hi folks,

If anyone has this available, I'm looking for information on how to correctly configure a Capacity Plus system containing an Enhanced GPS repeater slot -- both repeater and subscriber.

On the repeater side, I'm assuming this just exists as a data slot with EGPS enabled, but if there's anything else to it, I'd be glad to hear it. I don't yet have hardware in front of me to apply the EGPS entitlement to, so I'm guessing based on example codeplugs.

For the subscriber, I understand that with a traditional data repeater in CapPlus, you'd add two data slots to the Channel Pool; it looks like with EGPS, you'd just check the "Enhanced GPS" box on one of those slots to indicate the EGPS slot.

What is less clear to me is is this. Is a separate Data List is needed to separate the EGPS slot from the rest of the Data slots? A CapPlus personality looks like it only accepts one Data List, and there are no other configuration options in the personality to "inform" the personality of the presence of the EGPS feature. Basically, I'm trying to understand the correct way to inform a CapPlus personality about both the data slot for non ARS/GPS traffic, as well as where to send the ARS/GPS traffic over EGPS.

Thanks in advance for the advice. Trying to build out as much of this system as I can "on paper" before the infrastructure is installed, so we can hit the ground running once we turn the key.

Download the system planner from your MOL account. There are hundreds of pages of configurations and explanations. I had mine printed at Kinko's so I could use post-its and make notes in the margins. Roughly 600 pages, printed both sides ran be about $90 without the color prints.

All due respect, I've read, literally, the entirety of the TRBO system planner for the May 2016 release (and additionally searched the PDF for several terms related to this topic), and this question isn't really answered by the document. The system planner goes into fantastic depth when explaining the mechanics of features like Enhanced GPS, but there is little instruction for how to correctly configure the feature in the CPS.

Configuring the repeater appears to be straightforward enough, but configuring the subscriber is less clear. Specifically, it's not made clear whether or not the EGPS slot needs to be added to a CapPlus data list or not.

For what it's worth, I've also checked the video.motorolasolutions.com site for a tutorial, but came up empty there as well. Just came here hoping that someone else had already tread this path and could weigh in. By the same token, if/when I'm able to clear this up once I have our hardware up and running, I'll be posting that information here so that others can benefit from the learning experience.

We use eGPS for a very large client. Let me peruse the codeplugs.

Check with the vendor of the GPS software. They typically have default templates, or configuration guides. NeoTerra and TurboNET had this info on a couple of systems we set up.

So I have started to work with a customer who is also interested in this. My question is why do you believe you can separate various types of data to various data revert repeaters ? I expect to have six slots of Data Revert and I believe all six slots have to have to be enabled for EGPS, and will also carry any other inbound data packets for delivery to MNIS in my case. ARS, Text Messages (Work Order Responses), Battery Data and EGPS with MNIS sorting it out and routing the data to the applications based on the port Configurations.

So, about half an hour after I posted this, I was reading a document that showed two data Revert repeaters, one with and one without the EGPS feature installed.

Guess, I have much more home work to do on this as well...
