I am looking for a Service Manual for the Motorola SL300 (SL1600 in EMEA) DMR handheld radio.

Any help?

Detailed manual? No. Not without an executed NDA from Motorola.

There will be no detailed service manuals made available for the SL300 series or the XPR3000 series to anyone, according to Motorola. Only the parts visible in the Basic Service Manual exploded view will be made available. No board level repairs or troubleshooting (with a manual) will be allowed.

So, get used to adding that Service from the Start package and extended warranties to your sales, and then be prepared to flat rate any difficult repairs, because M isn't going to support field board level repairs.

No schematic or block diagrams either? Even if it never breaks, I still find it interesting to see what makes the magic brick work.

So do the Chinese, that's why they are no longer available.

Yup, what Magnus said. We had someone post a DSM for a 2.0 series radio a while back, and received a cease-and-desist (informal) the same day. They're not playing around.

I had to sign a rather stern NDA from Motorola to get the DSMs for the 2.0 series radios. We can't even put them on our local intranet. I have to hand the CD to whichever tech needs to view it. No email of the files either.

Thank you for this answer. I do hope the Basic Service Manual will be available soon.
What I am looking for is some who can tell me which type of internal PCB HF-connector is used in the Radio. You can reach the internal connector by carefully removing the rubber knob in the upper middle of the radios backside. The idea is to be able to connect an external antenna coax cable to that tiny little HF-connector inside.
Any idea?

That is probably a bad idea. The service adapter that goes on that connector is pretty pricey, and what they send with it is what appears to be a hand fashioned bracket to hold the adapter in place for servicing. That said, connecting anything to that in a mobile environment would most likely result in damage to the circuit board from flexing. I just wouldn't do it. The same goes for the 7550. Best bet is to purchase the service kit if you want to chance it.

BSM - Good luck with it

I agree, buy an other radio with a more suitable connector, any mobile a better choice instead to demolice such portable?
Anyway, good luck, you'll need it.

Cheers
