MDC ID and Clone Issues

Maybe I missed this somewhere... When cloning a radio, is there a way to stop the cloning process from overwriting the MDC ID from the codeplug to the target radio? The target radio ID and alias stays intact (Edit->Preferences->Un-Tick "Clone Radio Identity"), but MDC doesn't on 5xxx, 6xxx and 7xxx type XPR radios. What did I miss, or is this another oversight on MSI's behalf? I cant seem to find any options to stop this, or correct this issue.
