Hello everyone.
Was wondering if the experts here could assist me with a pretty specific question regarding my XTS 5000 and CPS.
First off, I consider myself a novice when it comes to the XTS line and CPS system being this is my first (High Tier) radio. Through lots of reading and experimentation, I have become increasingly comfortable with the XTS CPS and its functions.
The radio in question has the following feature set
H38 Smartzone
Q806 Astro Digital
H14 Enhanced Display
Q446
and FPP
However, i'm running into a bit of a speed bump with quick call signaling. To make this easier for readers, I will first tell you what I'm trying to accomplish. I'd like to have the ability to transmit my MDC PTT ID on all conventional personalities in a given zone (Zone 1 as I do not have many more than a dozen frequencies i'm looking to utilize at the moment) I'd also like to have the ability to "call or page out" a quick call II on a personality in that same zone. This "tone-out" personality will also utilize the same RX and TX frequencies as another channel in that same zone. I am currently under the impression that one cannot use two types of signaling on the same conventional personality, so the duplication would be necessary. Through research I came across a post where the original poster had a similar issue and a member stated that this because his radio was flashed for FPP. This is the case with my portable as well.
I've attempted configuring the radio in the CPS as described above; However, whenever I do so the "Call or Page" options in the menu items seem to disappear from the QC-II personality. This leaves me completely unable to send out pages as I'm hoping to do. Unfortunately, I don't know if this is because of an error I am making in a field in the CPS or the fact that the radio (given the current feature set) is unable to do what I'm looking for.
Any CPS hints would be much appreciated!
