Let me start by saying that I did try searching (here as well as several other places). Looking for someone that can advise if Motorola's Basic Privacy Key is interoperable. I run a P25 system and am looking to interface an RF Link to a Motorola Tier II repeater with Basic Privacy enabled on the repeater and subscribers. I have codeplugs from the agency however do not see access to the key itself for use on a Harris Tier II repeater functioning as a control station.

I'm not understanding your question completely, maybe it's too early. On motorola dmr repeaters you can't use the back of the repeater to interface to while in digital mode. You would need to use a mobile radio, in which case the audio out of the rear is analog. So your dmr encryption has no effect. As long as you could interface into you p25 system in analog (like a diu) it should work.

I am looking to use (ideally) a Harris Momentum (custom firmware Hyterra) repeater as a control station. I can interface to the Harris VIDA P25 network through the ethernet port on the Momentum. Just wondering if the actual 4 or 8 bit encryption keys associated with the Motorola Basic Privacy key numbers are published or proprietary to Motorola.

Both basic and enhanced privacy are Motorola proprietary I believe.

Correct. A Harris radio of any sort won't work with Moto BP (it will however work with Enhanced Privacy).

Ok thanks. Perhaps we will bring the one system we need to link to up to Advanced (as they really should be anyway) and bring the other down to no privacy as they really don't need it anyway. I am an analog, EDACS and P25 guy so I am still on a learning curve with DMR.

As long as the Hytera radios are FW.... ahh... it's either 6 or 6.5 or above, I forget, they are compatible with Moto Enhanced Privacy. I use a PD782 on Moto systems all the time (with privacy) and it works great. Good luck!
