Dear Motorola,

Please have some consistency on your firmware numbering. XPR7xxx was at version R02.60.05 in July and the newest firmware recently released is now R02.06.05.0002

Is R02.06.05 really newer than R02.60.05?

I thought it was a typo, but after doing a FW upgrade, it seems to be correct.

Am I missing something????

Here's the most recent version numbering:

I saw this as well...but I noticed in the new firmware om MOL that they only mention the "e" models. Perhaps this firmware is only for them?
But I agree... they are all over the place on firmware versioning.

We had a SL7550 (not e) that came back from Motorola depot and it had R02.06.05.0002 in it. This is where it first came to light for us.

Can you read/write to it with CPS 13, or do you need 13.5?

Nice of them to force-upgrade your firmware without asking.

Release notes indicate something about CPS 13.5 Build 679 being the supported CPS version of this firmware.

We had to upgrade to CPS 13.5 to read the unit. That's what kicked this whole thing off. Unable to read with CPS 13.0

As if the versioning on the file names isn't screwy enough, take a look at the MSI package version number. Even more screwy.

It's hardly surprising, that has been standard procedure for depot repairs since firmware flashing has been a thing.

I know, but that doesn't make it right.
