I originally compiled this list from antennas found in the workshop and posted it on the Batboard back in June 2009 and updated later from Moto docs. I posted this here at p25.ca in response to another thread but since the list needed additions I've started a fresh thread.

You need both the base colour and length to properly identify Motorola antennas.

Astro / XTS / and others using the Jedi SMA type:

136-178 MHz wide band 203 mm red (NAD6563)
136-174 MHz wide band 203 mm white weatherproof (PMAD4088 kit)

136-151 MHz heliflex 195 mm yellow
151-162 MHz heliflex 183 mm black
162-174 MHz heliflex 172 mm blue

136-150.8 MHz Visar VHF 125 mm (8505834W01)
150-174 MHz Visar VHF 125 mm (8505834W02)

380-435 MHz stubby heliflex 88 mm red (early 86 mm units 403-433 MHz)
435-470 MHz stubby heliflex 81 mm green
470-512 MHz stubby heliflex 79 mm black

380-400 MHz wide band 150 mm yellow
403-512 MHz wide band 130 mm light grey

700/800 dual band flexible whip 178 mm green (8505241U11)

806-870 MHz stubby 1/4 wave 80 mm white (8505241U06 said to work down to the 700 MHz band)
806-941 MHz flexible 1/4 wave 80 mm red
806-870 MHz flexible whip 175 mm red (8505241U03)
806-870 MHz elevated feed dipole 200 mm red

896-941 MHz flexible whip 160 mm blue (8505241U04)
896-941 MHz elevated feed dipole 200 mm blue

XTS 4000

136-151 MHz 48 mm
145-166 MHz 43 mm blue
162-174 MHz 38 mm

SABER / MX (paint on end of thread)

136-151MHz 165 mm yellow
151-162MHz black
162-174MHz 152 mm blue
403-435MHz red
435-470MHz green
470-512MHz black

Current Motorola antenna web page (has errors and lists only current models) but useful for part numbers:

I recently purchased a sample of each of the two wideband VHF antennas currently offered to look at the differences. The 8505518V01 from Motorola now has the made in China look while the weather-proof PMAD4088 kit looks identical except for a small 'or' ring seal on the small barrel.

I have the Jedi black vhf antenna. I measured it somewhere around 187 mm and MOL lists it as 150-162 mhz now.
