Local PD is having issues with there XTS-2500 vhf radios. Each radio's receive is Low and has static on there primary channel. The channels in the rest of the radio don't have this problem. Is there setting to fix low receive and static issue?

thank you

Have you had a listen to their version of "low"? (Length of string theory)

Have you seen how they are using the radios? I've seen/heard some of our lazy coppers who are just too bloody lazy to pickup the mic and it almost sounds like a dead carrier drop.

Is there some narrow some wideband (transition)?

It's been a whilst but I'm sure in tuner or CPS there was a tx voice deviation lift or similar.

I will assume they are using a repeated channel for primary, as you don't give much information.

My first guess is problem with the site, if all the portables are being effected.

Statement that other channels work, would confirm my theory.

But without more information i'm just assuming.

Are you a user, or just scanning?

In another forum elsewhere he said the ht1250s they also use or the department uses sound fine on the particular problem channel and limited to one zone one personality with the problem.everything else he said was working fine in rest of channels, zones. I suggested checking hear clear off as some may think it is static and have a low volume. He said the channel is narrow. I asked about firmware version, last tuning but he wasn't sure. I also asked about if it's possible the station itself or console may have a issue. He said the other mobiles and portables receive fine. Just the 2500s on that one channel which led me to believe to trouble shoot settings for that conventional personality. Analog repeated he said is what the channel is.

Thanks for filling in some of the blanks ptolemy9200.

Kinda of changes things, i'm going with they are programed wrong!

I wish people could follow the banner instructions above in yellow "If posting about a radio issue: Include the HOST, DSP and UCM/secure (if installed) firmware versions, flashcode and CPS version you're using. This is critical information."

Might add in that yellow box "And as detailed information as possible on the problem".

Correct link. I mentioned before to in that to side by side the codeplugs with the working xts5000. I also had pm'ed about a codeplug over there. Haven't heard anything maybe they got it going? I was thinking same you were about maybe the 2500s came from a particular seller but didn't ask. I would hope they are from /\/\ at least or been certified by a radio shop if used surplus and had been gone through piece by piece and tuned.
