I won't do it to my 7550. I have your Harris radio, so should I need a FPP radio, that has it. I've owned the Harris 8 months already, & haven't needed FPP yet, but it's good to have. To me, it's not worth the aggrivation to change my 7550 over. GARY

The only time I personally would ever use FPP would be if you could manually enter/edit talkgroup ID's as well. I travel a lot for work so it would be super handy for checking out unknown DMR signals without needing laptop/CPS/cable etc. Get the details from DSD+ and away you go.

The FPP functionality (digital) is useful to hams in the following way:

- Create a "DMR MARC" FPP zone, with all talkgroups/timeslots configured correctly.

- Use FPP to change the frequency/color code on the fly, if you're traveling.

That's what people around my parts did. Works great.

As for digital FPP operation in general, yes -- talkgroup addition/modification would be desirable. At least analog FPP works great.

I don't travel much, but if I did, that's how I would do it. D-Marc group #'s are pretty standard all over NA. I even have some Canadian TG #'s in my contact list. GARY

"Once I have programmed your radio with FPP, your radio will NOT be able to use the following features: IP SITE CONNECT, CAPACITY PLUS, CONNECT PLUS, and 5 TONE SIGNALING. This FPP feature is meant for radios that only utilize analog and digital channels. If you have any channels that use IPSC, connect plus, ect. then, those channels will be disabled and you will have to remove FPP to re-enable them."

What the hell? Buddy that is selling this must be an idiot.

Also for what its worth, Basic Privacy for whatever reason, isn't on the radio once this is done.

The person selling that modification on eBay is a convicted child molester. Stay far away from them.

The listing should also say "After FPP is enabled on your radio it will be returned non type approved, out-of-spec and RF performance will be diminished because I didn't know I had to save / restore the tuning configuration."
