MotoTRBO Codeplug Transfer between different regions

Hello!

I do have a DP4600 (EMEA) codeplug which I need to clone to XPR6550 (US) radio. I wanted to use copy/paste or drug'n'drop, but I unable to do it, because I cannot install EMEA and US CPS versions on the same PC (due to Motorola installer limitation/protection). As I know, there is no region-free patch for TRBO unlike Waris. Ran both CPS on different PCs, but copy/paste don't work via Remote Desktop. So I am out of ideas. But how about you?

Codeplug is huge, about 100 duplex channels, full Channel Pool, a lot of roam lists, etc. Handwork :wank: will take forever.

Even if you manually tried to copy the files together, you would have a mass amount of reference id's to rename. Which you could write a script to help you do, probably going to have time in any approach you take from what I can see...

Problem is not here. You cannot have 2 CPS on the same PC. Second one asks to uninstal first one. So you cannot do copy/paste.

I have multiple CPS versions and regions on the same Workstation and switch between them often.

The secret for me is VMBOX -- Simple to install and use. An you can access a common shared directory on the base OS to transfer files around.

Having said this, I still think you will have multiple issues trying to cut and paste between the various CPS releases / regions. This program has more
legacy DOS components than Windows and just does not do simple things like cut & paste to the clip board, or import/export CSV files like most
of would expect to do.

Are you talking about TRBO CPS or VirtualBox ?

I am talking about TRBO CPS!

VMBox allows you to run multiple copies of Windows as independent instances on your desktop with a separate distinct copy of CPS, or what ever in each.
