I am running a Windows 7 (64bit) machine with the MotoTRBO CPS to program the radio's and it is working 100%. I can not get the CPS to update the firmware with the 64 bit machine, I have to use a 32 bit machine. Has anybody solved a similar problem?

What version of CPS and what radios are you using? I've personally upgraded the firmware on my XPR 5550 and XPR 4550s using Windows 7 64-bit. That was with version 11 of the CPS, but now I'm using Windows 10 Pro 64-bit with CPS 13 and upgraded the firmware again with that with no issues whatsoever.

Also, what happens when you try to upgrade the firmware? Do you get any error messages? In my experience, the upgrades did take several minutes to complete, but they did complete. The radios rebooted as well during the upgrade procedure which is normal.

My PC (Win 7 64-bit) was just used with CPS 13 to upgrade R02.50.05 firmware on a few SL7550's. The update "box" would come up, but the progress bar would not move. It was stuck at 0%. After shutting down a Garmin GPS and Webroot anitvirus app the update worked fine FWIW. Took me a half hour to figure out..

For some strange reason, I started having issues with one of our Thinkserver work stations today with the USB. Every other time you connected a 4000 series portable, you had to remove the USB from the port and reinsert it. I updated the Fudally drivers on that computer and also reinstalled the ancillary java apps that were two versions behind current. I'll see if that has done the trick tomorrow.

Of course, Moto recommends that you don't run any antivirus software when programming. I rejected that advice out of hand and managed to find a few (a VERY few) A/V programs that ran without interfering.

I noticed the radio recognition taking significantly longer last night when upgrading a 5350 and a 5550 to R02.06.03. At least a minute before the progress bar started moving. It did eventually work though.

Anyone else using a 4k display? CPS 13 looks like crap and all the formatting is wrong as well. Drop down options display halfway across the screen and all the text is odd sizes. 12.1 worked fine just fine on a number of 4k displays but 13 won't take it.

All my machines are 64bit and I've never had any issues with CPS/FW (up to, and currently running 12.1).

Today's problem:

XPR5550 has R2.00.00

CPS version 13.5

Update XPR5000_R0206050002_100506_MobileNA installed in computer

"Update" box shows None for upgrades when it comes up.

This morning, an XPR7550 updated fine with same setup (and appropriate update file, installed the same way and in the same CPS session as the XPR5550 update file).

Any ideas?

Is your cable Rev C? I had problems with what turned out to be a Rev A cable recognizing the radios. Not sure about Rev B, but C is the latest.

It's a cable that I made, a USB cable straight to the connector for the back of the radio. It works fine other than the "None" issue in the Update box. I don't know if the issue is with the radio or if the update file is just installing where the CPS doesn't see it.
