Mototrbo DP no display tone alerts

We are developing a solution for Mototrbo DP 3601 hand portable no display radio and want to raise an audio alert to the user that they need to do something.
The radio does have an option board. Does anyone know how we can send a command over the air to the Hand held radio and make it sound an audible alert for two seconds
Any assistance appreciated

Is the call alert feature broken?

Thanks for the reply

No It may be my interpretation. Most other systems (NXDN) P25, MPT1327 allow status messages to be sent and received. Depending on the situation when a status is received an action may be activated eg alert the user to the fact a status has been received. In this case we need to alert the radio user they are in a location they need to avoid and we are wanting to alert therm to the fact. The call alert as I understand it is for messaging, or private calls or group calls. In our case the hand held unit has no display therefore the messaging alert in the radio unit is not available.
This lack of status messaging appears to be a DMR challenge with other radio equipment manufacturers as well

Thanks for elaborating. I understand what you're saying, now.

I'm moving your thread to the DMR Forum, as there will be much better exposure there. What you need is a third-party app for the option board. I'm sure there's someone who will be able to help better than I. I hope you find what you need.

Entering http://trbo.ca into your URL bar will take you right to the DMR section of the forum.
