Gday all,
just curious as to why the market is flooded with these mt1500 hackjob xts2500s...a friend of mine recently ended up with one.. we tested the unit on the bench and yes the radio works fine but the tags all state its a mt1500 non p25 radio... its somewhat annoying that ppl do this and dont tell ppl in their items descriptions that it is a hackjob to make people bid as if it were a legit factory released xts2500.. has anyone else come across these?

They're everywhere. It's not a big deal, really. The uniboard is the exact same radio. I'd much rather have a factory board, which has been upgraded to a 2500 and recased, than one of those piece of **** ALT radios with cracked uniboards, missing parts and potential water damage.

Yes, the sellers should state they're upgraded units, but hardware-wise, they're as near-perfect as you'll find on the used market.

hey, i totally agree the seller should state this fact in the description . It seems to work fine so i guess thats really all that matters.
