So, I haven't done an upgrade in a few years. I remove guts from 2K unit, I inserted all new 3K modules. I fired up unit with a dummy load on TX port and unit goes into red fail/lock state. The tuner will not let me read the unit to adjust the PA settings, WTF am I missing?

I am absolutely certain, although I cannot lay my hands on it at the moment, that there is a document that details the step by step upgrade procedure. Have you read it? I would have to, to start answering your question. If that failed, I would be on the phone to Trbo tech support next, so they can walk me through the procedure, since it is supposed to be relatively troublefree. Which steps have you performed?

Sooo, I have done this before, but a while back when trbo first came out and we upgraded some existing systems. What should happen is tuner should allow you do a PA calibration so that the controller doesn't spaz out, and is aligned properly. A read and write to the station and boom, you are back on the air. After three different calls to tech support, turns out the newest version of tuner doesn't allow you to read a locked radio, go figure. Answer, download the older version in archives and that should work. I haven't tried this yet, but it would make sense. Very aggravating to say the least, such is life. More to follow. Rob

So yea, tuner 10.5 did the trick. FYI until they release a new tuner with a fix I guess. Rob
