This notification furthers the Product Information of January (#P21-A-01LM)/February (I21-C-01LM) regarding the AKM factory fire, the global microprocessor shortage from COVID and the effect on supply chain stability.
JVCKENWOOD Corporation has determined that these conditions will create production/supply gaps for two radio platforms, the NX-1x00/P1x00 and NX-3x00/3x20. These estimates are:
Radio Platform Estimated Delay Start Estimation
NX-1x00/P1x00 Up to 60 days May 2021
NX-3x00/3x20 Up to 180 days April 2021
Additionally, the demand for these models has far exceeded sales estimations, further challenging inventory availability. While the NX-1000 delay is manageable, the extended gap for the NX-3000 is business critical and requires an alternative model solution.
As a countermeasure to the NX-3x00/3x20 delay, JVCKENWOOD has developed the NX-5000S Series (models below) as a substitute. NX-5000S models will be available starting July, 2021. Please refer to the included NX-5000S Portable and Mobile Product Sheets to reference model similarities and differences.

Ive attached the brochures for the NX-5x00S. Look like they put a B&W screen in it to save money, and come with DMR and NXDN already activated. I anticipate it will only do one or the other just like the NX-3xx0 series. Ive been told it also will not do P25. Im eagerly awaiting D1N to come out that supports this model, as I can see exactly what it will and wont do by selecting that model.

No 800MHz as this is intended to mitigate the shortage of NX1000/3000 series which don't come in 800 MHz (and 900 NX-3000 isn't popular so there isn't a need for stop gap, nor is NX-5000 available in 900MHz)

There are 800MHz NX3ks tho... I have one.
I suspect that its just not suffering the supply problem as the V/U radios are.

They are but the popularity of the NX-34/39xxs when compared to the 32/33/37/38x0s is significant. Thats a really small market in the 3000 series. I'd imagine that market is so small they aren't worth the (albeit small) R&D on it.

The 3000/3020 for sure come in 800mhz.

I'm wondering if the codeplugs will be the same as an NX-3xxx or it will be a complete new model with it's own codeplug.
