Will an O2 head mate up directly to an O7 chib in a remote mount set up or are there additional components needed?

Yes, it will...but be advised that the outer part of the head is larger and if you have a tight spot, it might not fit.

By what I've been lead to believe, any 0x head compatible with that series of radio should match up to an 0 series TIB and similar for the W for W series (not really applicable in APX IFAIK for W).

TIB yes, CHIB no. The OP asked about the CHIB, which is at least different between an O5 and O7. I haven't messed with an O2.
