I tried to update the firmware in my PD782 hytera, I misread the update and did the wrong one. Now it won't work, my original firmware was A2.05.06.000. I have searched for several day to find this so I can undo my problem and cannot find it. Can't get any thing from Hytera's site. Can anyone help! Thanks

Couldn't write to my pd782 any more and thought the firmware may have been corrupted, found a firmware and misread it to believe it would update what I had.
Boy was I wrong. After hours of searching had no luck at all, just a tired rear from sitting. If you could help, it would be most appreciated.
Thanks:eek:

Hi Jorel,

I would like to assist you with your problem. Please tell me what version firmware exactly ex.) 2.xx.xx.xxx you had before the upgrade, what version firmware upgrade were you using, what version windows were you using to do the upgrade and was your windows version 32-bit or 64-bit OS. Also, what version CPS are you using now to read your radio? Please describe in detail the problem you are having after the upgrade.

Once I have these answers, I can better assist you.

Before I tried the upgrade, my radio had quit allowing me to write to it.
I figured something was corrupt so I looked for a firmware upgrade, misread the one I found v6.01.05.006, and when I installed it, my serial changed but was no longer a match.
My radio model is PD782-00000000-000000-v.1.0.b
My original version firmware on the back of the radio says A2.05.06.000. The radio still starts up and shows the new firmware but won't let me read or do anything. When I try to read it, a message comes up that "model setting isn't a match". I thought if I could get the original firmware back into the radio, it would hopefully cure it. Have been all over the net and cannot find it. If you could help, would be appreciated. My windows is Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit.

Jorel, please stop re-posting the same post with an additional sentence attached to it. You can go back and edit your post if you need to add additional information for a while after you post it. If it expires and you can not edit it anymore, then post the additional information WITHOUT repeating the entire previous post with an additional sentence, something like "Oh, I forgot..." or "Additional info: ..." and JUST post the additional information.

Thank you.

What version CPS do you have (Open CPS and click on Help About or watch the version splash screen when it starts up), what are the first 3 characters of the serial number shown on the serial number label on the back of the radio?

CPS Version would be V5.00.09.008 NA2, first 3 numbers of the serial are 113.
Model is PD782 VHF. Frequency 136-174MHz. Last number is A2.05.06.000.
Thanks

What error were you getting before you did the firmware update? And to make sure I'm following... the radio now has R6 firmware in it, but you are trying to read it with R5 CPS? That could be a problem!

The error before I ever touched it was "error writing". I could read the radio programing but when a change to one of the frequencies, I could not write back to the radio.
I tried undoing the change I made so everything would be back the same and I still couldn't write back to the radio. I tried several times but to no avail. I could read just fine but couldn't write. Yes the radio now has the R6.1. The upgrade kit when opened says Upgrade To: [ V6.01.05.006 ] Yes trying to read with V5.00.09.008 NA2.
Thank you for helping.

Jorel,

One of the reasons you cannot communicate to your PD782 now is because you flashed the firmware to a version higher than your CPS is. CPS v5.00 is very old and the CPS version is up to v6.05 now. Your firmware of v6.01 while still current could essentially be updated to v6.05. The first thing you will need to do is uninstall your CPS and then install the newer version. If you PM me, I will send you a link to download the latest version CPS along with the latest drivers for both Win32 & Win64. If after you have done this, you still require assistance, we can continue to assist until your problem is resolved. Once your problems are resolved, I would be happy to supply you with the v6.05 firmware so you can bring your radio up to date and take advantage of the latest features and enhancements.
