I purchased an XPR 7550 just a week ago and the internals smell something like a very strong perfume(gosh). I think it was from the previous owner?
So I was slightly bored and decided to open the radio up and air out the PCB and stuff while do some preventive maintenance on the PCB and gasket.

I was surprised that it has an option board at the bottom. I got this radio really cheap so at first I expect it to have like super basic stuff but turns out it has the full package including GPS and BT. (bought at around 21,000 yen which is around 200 usd)
I would suspect that this is a recased or refurbished but everything looks very clean so far. Second suspect would be it was an ex-trunking radio which was given with a contract for a company's trunking infrastructure provider.

Back to the main point:
I saw this GOB with the part number of PMLN5718A and started to Google it but can't seem to find any information on it and what it does. It definitely does not show up on the CPS.
Anybody have any idea? Is there any retrievable data inside the GOB? I have no idea what is it other than some Youtube videos showing FPP enabling with GOB.

You can flash it with Connect Plus trunking firmware, or install many other third-party applications to it.

Thank you. This is quite interesting.

I guess the SDK for this board is not open? Would make a good project if there are public development kit for the board w

I tried to read the codeplug from the C+CPS and the radio just freezes after showing "GOB Bootloader" for a few seconds. Did I brick it? Should I power cycle it?

Update: Arite, I see that the screen will freeze up if I select an option board channel. Still can't read the codeplug off tho since there was literally no reaction on the C+CPS and also the "DEVICE" menu is locked.

Update2: Aaah, I think I know what happened. I must be using a C+CPS to read a GOB that has no firmware or has different application. That is why there was no reaction towards the C+CPS. Wonder how do I see the current application firmware that is loaded tho.

Thanks for the link!
Just when I want to try my luck, the site is not available for my region.... maybe they knew I was coming.

Well, it seems that the accelerometer is faulty or the firmware is corrupted or something.

The radio is vertical but the test fails. Tried other position as well. Still fail. Wonder if the board is damaged or something...

I am sorry. Test accelerometr OK if GOB in horizontal positions. Version GOBFLASH 2.13

Versoin 3.00 (R14) test Acc passed in any positions. GOB Empty, Only bootloader.
If GOB contain a firmware, GOBFLASHER may behave in an arbitrary manner.

Ah, I have to lie it down horizontally to pass the accelerometer test.

Thanks for the help. I wonder if there are a compilation or list of free GOB 3rd party application. So far I can only find that there is iTrbo but that is not free.
