An upgrade to this firmware has resulted in several issues and a locked machine with the red alarm light solid on.

Currently the machine responds correctly to its IPSC master and RDAC works but RDAC shows all alarms as locked. No TX or RX.

Initial firmware upgrade hanged at 68% (WIn 7 32 bit CPS 11.5 build 621). Recovery operation reported as successful.

Machine appeared to work fine after recovery in stand alone DMR mode but alarmed on IPSC connection to master.

This on the first of four machines. Ex factory R01.00.03 is working OK on other machines in IPSC as peers. Operation as Master yet to be tested.

UPDATE 1

Alarm is solid even removed from IPSC network and returned to stand alone.

Going to try recovery again and then test in stand alone.

UPDATE 2

OK, so the standard 'read code plug then write code plug' recommended to clear alarm locked units works to clear the fault until it connects again to the master. Take it out of IPSC mode to stand alone and write the code plug back it's OK.

Have cloned in a working IPSC code plug and it works in IPSC mode OK. Weird. Looking possibly like a corrupt codeplug but I'll do more checking before making a call.

It was the codeplug. It's repeatable (pardon the pun) and portable. Fixed with a clone.

Anyway two units are now running the new firmware and two still on the old firmware. Everything check out OK. All testing so far as IPSC remotes. Master tests to do then they're good to go. They seem more fussy with CPS USB access. You can't connect when the network lamp is flashing (indicates Ethernet is up but connection not made to master).

At 20W out they barely get warm and the fans are quieter than expected. Apart from the better RF performance there are some neat features like the 3 amp charger with programmable voltage, a lot more alarm options, and even the ability to remotely read the AC voltage input. Overall a nice package.

I thought I'd update this. We just received another batch of SLR5700 machines, these arrived with R01.01.03 ex-factory and have worked perfectly.
