If this has been addressed before, I apologize, but I cannot find the answer, I have a couple of APX 7000s that were purchased from Motorola and are legit radios, I notice looking at the flash codes of each radio that CPS shows purchased flash code and used flash code, basically what is the difference and can any of the non-used flash items be turned on if needed by CPS?
Thanks for any help.

The "Used" flashcode is a summary of what features you are actualy "using" (i.e. what's been programmed/enabled in the codeplug). it's a good sense of whether or not you "overpaid" for features you aren't using.

Yes, that is what I assumed, but on my non-personal, work radios, which are an APX 7500 and APX 7000, it shows not using TDMA and legacy system key, which several of the systems programmed into my radios that cover two (2) states are using these options, same thing on my personal APX 7000s, some features I know I am using are shown not being used, but I am using them,

Is this affecting operation of the radios or causing any other concern besides cosmetic? Seems like a gigantic waste of time to be discussing this. No offense to anyone participating in this thread.

I just wanted to learn why this happens, radios work fine, I am not a radio technician and was trying to learn more about my hobby, my profession is law enforcement, but I enjoy radios

All good, signalman51. I wasn't trying to insult you. APX CPS is already bastardized and complex enough. I just didn't want to see you wasting your time on this. I stopped caring about complex Motorola issues (which aren't really important) a long time ago. They complicate things to keep themselves in business. If our forum wasn't here, you'd be phoning Motorola tech support and keeping their monkeys employed.

I totally agree, I have been using APX CPS for the past 3 years and it is interesting, I really appreciate this site and try not to ask many questions, but this is an issue I cannot get anyone to answer, again, thanks for all you guys do
