Restoring the volume knob "firmness" on XTS1500/2500...

Hello, all. Hopefully I am describing it in such a way that we can understand, but a few of my XTS1500/2500 radios have lost that firmness in the volume knob they first have when they are new. They rotate much more easily than before and this is without any case/housing changes or taking them off for any reason. If anyone has any suggestions or tips/tricks that'd be much appreciated! Thank you!

Too much WD-40.

Seriously, sometimes it happens because the sealing gasket in the housing wears, or the control could be wearing. Try removing the knob, cleaning the seating surface, and pressing the knob on tight against the seating surface. When the knob is off, check to see if the thin Teflon washer is shot.
