RX BUSY ALERT ON AN XTS5000?

Is it possible to program the XTS5000's to give you a bonk when you hit the transmit button when the channel is active when on an analog conventional channel? I know they do this when on a trunked system.

It was possible to do it with the Smart PTT function in the CPS. Maybe it is present in the ASTRO25 CPS too. Try that. You'll find it in Conventional Configuration menu, I think.

Yes. Look under:

Conventional Personality --> Smart PTT

Set it for "Inhibit on Carrier" or "Inhibit on Incorrect PL". Or whatever other configuration makes you happy.

I do see the smart PTT under the conventional personality tab but it is greyed out. It won't let me change anything.

Disregard, I had the personality set to RX ONLY. I unchecked that and it now shows up. I will give it a try.

Per CPS:

Accessed Only:

When the Receive Only Personality field is not enabled, and

when the DVRS Operation Enable field is not enabled or is inapplicable for the ASTRO System selected for the current Conventional Personality (selected in the ASTRO System field).
