The SL300 can be put into RSSI mode by turning the volume down to where its off followed be pressing volume down 5 times followed by volume up 5 times. Changing channels or turning radio off turns RSSI off again. Looks really neat.....

Interesting... They add an RSSI display to a "low tier" radio using an unconventional display which has no support for their trunking systems, however the ASTRO25 series will only display RSSI while accessing a trunking system. I know, different platforms/developers, but interesting logic going on.
