SL7550 Locking up

Has anyone had issues with the SL7550 locking up when keying the radio? I seem to only get maybe three key ups and then the radio will lock up and sometimes will keep transmitting. I have reloaded the Codeplug, updated to the latest firmware. The only way I can get it to stop keying is having to either hold down the power button or remove the battery.

Yes I have experienced this. I had a pair of them that were programmed with a factory default codeplug.... both even had radio ID 1 in them. One of them would do almost exactly what you are describing. I thought I had a bad radio. So I re-programmed them with an identical code plug I had built for my usage, then changed their IDs to not be the same, and they have worked perfectly ever since. So I'm not sure what it was..... but it works great now.

You might try to completely reprogram the radio with a fresh codeplug built from scratch (not a version that has been read from the radio), and make sure and not duplicate the ID with another radio it talks too... and see if that works.

I'm using firmware version R02.30.10 and CP version 06.01.08

Send me a private message and I may can help you if you don't get it working.

Thanks for the ideas. the Radio ID is unique. I did this last weekend get it to do the same thing on a simplex channel. I did rebuild a code plug from scratch and experience the same issue. I have messing with the header time and that seems to be better but will still lock up. It seems like it does not receive an signal back from the repeater in time and then locks up.... still scratching my head on this and any other ideas are greatly appreciated.

I did try doing a private message but looks like that feature is not enabled or I did not find it... thanks
