Quick and to the point: One person (caught on camera) broke into a firehall in northern Alberta earlier this week and walked off with, among other things, a "Motorola APX 6000 radio with remote speaker mic (serial number 481CUF3790)".

Dude had his face well covered. Wouldn't be surprised if he been in there before and knew of cameras.

For the average dumb criminal I'm sure they think electronics = money.

Or... It was someone that knows the value of those radios, but if that was the case I'd expect you'd grab them all not just one.

This radio undoubtedly belongs to a certain .au federal law enforcement agency. I wonder how long it'll take them to go looking for it.
