Hi Guys;

I want to know following for IPSC, CP, LCP and connect Plus.

1-Max number of Radios in system.
2-Max Radios affiliation capacity for single site.
3-Max Channels for Radio and consoles
4-Max consoles in system
5-Max Repeaters in system

Requirements for a single site and console.

Multiple part answer here.

For IPSC:

1) 2) The maximum number of radios that can be supported per repeater is dependent on the Grade of Service (% of busies) and traffic profile (call type/duration) of the users. As a rough rule of thumb, work on around 70 users per slot. Remember that if you add more linked repeaters in IPSC, the number of radios that can be supported pr repeater will not increase as the linked (wide area) slot acts as a single channel. The theoetical maximum is over 16 million but the GoS would be really bad.

3) Radios are able to accommodate up to 1000 channels. Some of this would be lost to the channel pool if roaming is used. So the answer is dependent on the size of the system.

4) A console, if connected to an IPSC system via the Master repeater and IP, will act as a Peer and will add to the Peer count. The guaranteed maximum number of Peers is 14 (15 - Master).

5) 15 but via an Application like SmartPTT or C-Bridge you could add many more - see http://dmr-marc.net/repeaters.html

I will answer the above for Cap+ LCap+ and Conn+ later....unless someone else wants to have a crack at it?

For Capacity Plus:

1) 65535 minus the number of trunked repeaters; minus the number of applications that use MNIS. Or stated otherwise: no of radios + no of apps that use MNIS + number of repeaters = 65535.
2) Capacity Plus is a single site topology anywhere.
3) Capacity Plus doesnt use channels as such but the radio would be able to support up to 254 talkgroups. The radio channel capacity would easily be able to cope with the number of pooled channels required to support Capacity Plus.
4) See my answer to 1.
5) eight trunked plus 12 optional data revert repeaters for radio to server data (i.e. GPS).

Note that Capacity Plus and Linked Capacity Plus don't use affiliation like TETRA or Astro.

For Linked Capacity Plus:

1) 65535 minus the number of trunked repeaters; minus the number of applications that use MNIS. Or stated otherwise: no of radios + no of apps that use MNIS + number of repeaters = 65535.
2) Capacity Plus and Linked Capacity Plus don't use affiliation like TETRA or Astro so in theory you could have all 65535 radios on one site.
3) Capacity Plus doesnt use channels as such but the radio would be able to support up to 254 talkgroups. The radio channel capacity would easily be able to cope with the number of pooled channels required to support Capacity Plus.
4) See my answer to 1.
5) Up to 15 sites with eight repeaters per site of which a maximum of six can be trunked - the remaining could be used for data revert.

For Connect Plus:

1) Theoretically 16 million but the GoS at that number would be terrible.
2) Theoretically all the radios could be affiliated at one site but that's a bit pointless...
3) I'm not sure on this but its quite a lot.
4) Same answer as 3. In Connect Plus consoles are connected via a gateway.
5) 15 repeaters per site and up to 70 sites though that number is a little complex if there are a lot of sites.

Like @Bill_G said, the System Planner is the best source of information :)
