The XTS lines portable radios will be cancelled as of November 30, 2013, with the last order entry date of October 31, 2013. APX series will replace the line.

I hope they keep the software refreshes free.

Allthough this is not breaking news, this is the first time I have heard it officially.

I did not see a thread on this when I searched, I appolgize if I am reposting admin feel free to delete if so.

Can you point me to something official or a source of this info? Been rumor for quite a while now, would like to show the company this so can move on to APX planning. Local Motorola has nothing official as well as no cancellation notice I see on MOL. If last day to order is tomorrow, I'd hope to see this somewhere.....

I see nothin on MOL either. But om the web site it shows the 5000 has a notice. I have spoke with an mss and he confirmed the 5000 cancellation. Not sure yet on 2500 or 1500. But notice will likely be coming soon.

It's a shame they chose not to support Phase II TDMA on the XTS (ASTRO 25 family) radios. I know of someone who saw experimental code working down in Plantation. Management chose not to pursue it, due to desire to push APX sales (new radios) instead.

The announcement about XTS/XTL 5000 came out in April. Nothing about 1500/2500 radios yet I know of so I would hope to see 6 months lead before last sale date anyway.

Thought you might have had info on entire XTS line cancellation, that's what I'm looking for. Perusing APX4K and 6K offerings now anyway so not that big of a deal.

It would be nice to see the 2500 with phase II support, but the cancellation of the %k is not surprising.

It's really to bad they didn't add phase II to the XTS line, even if it was a limited feature set.
