Does anyone know the history of the bulk lots of VHF XTS 3000 radios currently up for sale from Canada?

The reason for asking here is that the local ham radio club is looking for a bulk lot of cheap P25 radios for 2M.

They are former Correction Canada radios, I've seen them previous to their listing on ebay, not sure of the operating condition, but the physical condition is well used, and they are AN revision radios, so good luck getting any parts other than directly from Motorola (if they even still have parts for the AN XTS3000)

Most of them have the flashcode 1010010000005, which is

D12 B1Q806Q806 ASTRO IMBE Digital Operation
D10 B1H43H43 Trunked Remote Monitor/Radio Trace
D7 B1H35H35 Conventional Systems Operation

Thanks for that! I wondered where they came from, eh. Noted they were AN but at less than $100 bucks each still good value!

I just bought two of them (individual radios, not bulk lots)... Got them a few days ago. Easily 9.5/10 in physical condition and work like a charm. One had the latest firmware & dsp, the 2nd was one rev behind I think. After digesting the info here on how to modify the feature descriptor block (and with a little help from the group) I was able to add trunking to them as well. One of the radios still had a Corrections Services Canada sticker on the back under the battery.

Thanks for the feedback, sounds like they've been maintainedif they're AN versions but have reasonably up-to-date FW. Promising…

I have no regrets at all with my purchase. Sure a Model II or III would be preferred, but I was basically looking for a cheap P25 handheld to park on a couple of talkgroups. Where I am, my Pro-106 does an excellent job of decoding P25 but I have a paging site nearby that constantly swamps it out. Not so much of an issue with the XTS :)

I have boughten one off of the same seller. I have no regrets either. Mine also had the most recent firmware and DSP. Mine was 8.5/10.
