There are several threads and sites comparing the 6550 and the 7550. But, I haven't seen any comparisons between the 3500 and 7550. We currently are upgrading our 6550s to 7550s when a radio vendor suggested we look at the 3500. Currently spending about $850 per radio for the 7550 and have a quote for a 3500 for about $575. There is an extra entitlement per radio to allow it to operate on our IPSC network that is included in that quote.
Anyone have any opinion on the 3500 in regards to durability, programming, etc? Is the 3500 considered a 2.0 mototrbo? Can it be programmed OTA? I was really looking forward to only having two models of radios to program (7550 and 5550), but if I can buy three 3500s for the same cost as two 7550s, it might be worth it.
