I have a potential project in the works to remote an XPR 4550 and I don't really understand and can't seem to find any info on how the channel select feature is used off the accessory connector. I see in CPS there is an option to assign pins for channel select 1-5, and the help file text just says this:

"This is an input line that allows an external device to select a channel. When the pin is assigned to this option, the pin can be triggered individually or combined with other pins assigned to this option to select a channel. See Configuration of Pins for Channel Select."

I might need only 1-5 channels at most, but surely you could select other channels if needed? How exacrly is this supposed to work? Oh and will this work for DMR channels? That is my target usage.

Consider each Channel Select line as a bit. Channel Select 1 one will be the LSB but in all radios I tried it sticks to 0 forever, so to select 4 channels you will need 3 bits or ChnlSel 1-3 and you can select only odd channels with two most significant bits.
