Okay so please excuse with me as this is a multifaceted question that I can not seem to come up with an answer for, I have tried to include all the information necessary for anyone viewing this but if I leave anything out please let me know. This radio has the most up-to-date firmware.
I have a Motorola XPR 5550 remote mounted in a vehicle that I would like to use to control external 12 volt lights. So here are a few things that I (think) I know.
Pin #26 (VIP_1) is 12V tolerant and should be used for less than 250 mA
So if I set Pin #26 as "Generic Output 1" and active level as "High" I should be able to use this as an on/off selector for my lights?
Now I would place a typical automotive relay to ensure less than a 250 mA draw on the radio itself.
What I can not seem to figure out is how to "trigger" this Generic Output 1 from that radio itself, I assume there is a button selection I can chose from on the menu area in the below picture.
If there is anyone out there that can help me I would greatly appreciate it!
