Hello Everyone,
So for the life of me I cannot figure out this problem. My UHF XPR 7550 is set up to scan 16 frequencies in my area. My town Fire is setup as priority 1 and Police priority 2... For some ridiculous reason the genius frequency coordinator at the time gave my fire department and the fire department on the other end of the county the same frequency thinking there wouldn't be a problem... That is not the case... Then in the same instant gave my police and some bus company about 20 miles away the same frequency... I don't know why you would give a business a public safety frequency, but anyway to my problem...
Now I know this radio wasn't intended for public safety or even analog for that matter, but that is what I am using it for...
So finally the issue... For some reason when I am scanning I begin receiving another departments signal and all of a sudden it drops out and goes to either my priority one or two because the radio is receiving a signal from those other departments with the same frequency, different PL, but does not follow the un-mute rules... So my question is, why won't it just ignore the other signals? Every other radio I own works fine, not Motorola's by the way. I did own an XTS 2500, but I can't remember if it did it or not. If it did I probably would have remembered, but i'm just making sure its not a Motorola issue or what...
So what can I do? I have tried every different combination and its just led me to nothing, but frustration. Any explanation or solution would be a huge help!
Thank you!
