I know I can make my own, but does anyone sell a pre-made XPR Mobile pinout to 3.5 mm audio jack? I'm hesitant to try my electrical skills.

I think the hardest part is making the accessory end between Spkr- (pin 9) and Spkr+ (pin 10) because the pin sizes are too small for a standard crimper. Kurt Meltzer at Meltzer Radio Engineering (mre1032@yahoo.com) sells Cable 415 (seller id mre1032) on eBay with the other end unfinished. Be aware that the audio from the accessory port is unbalanced, so likely you'll want (or need) to provide some isolation.

At one time, Kurt sold a Maxtrac audio cable that included an audio transformer. I don't see that he offers one with a transformer for the XPR Mobile, but you could send him a note and ask if you're unsure of skills.

Do NOT ground either side of this output, either!

Ok, thanks. I got this figured out. Is there anyway to mute the front speaker when I am using this as the primary audio out without effecting it?

Maybe the Record Out would work in your application. It is not affected by the volume control and is line level. There is a tread on this.

The front speaker doesn't mute, regardless... if you want to use an external speaker, you get to pull the head and disconnect the speaker. Fantastic design.

I would question the use of a 3.5mm jack... Moto's audio amps are picky, shorting the two lines may have unintended consequences.
