We have a number of XPR 6550s exhibiting the same exact problem. Roughly once a day per radio, upon pressing the PTT the radio will emit an extremely loud screeching sound akin to a smoke detector going off. The radio sounds this at max volume regardless of what volume setting the radio is on. This is happening across both the UHF R1 and UHF R2 radios. Usually, the screech stops when the PTT is released, however for the first time last night the screeching continued after the PTT was release and the radio turned off. The sound did not stop until the battery was pulled from the radio.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?
