That's probably it. <very annoying> we have a lot of customers --very-- high up that are getting clobbered from 75-125 miles away on their channels now.

Curious why you feel DMR Tier 3 could be a key offering ?

Simple sales into networks they are not precluded from being on based on no ability to connect.

I believe Motorola has more or less be told not to quote on a couple of big networks out in Australia due to vendor lock in and no support for other radios. Tenders released for DMR systems in recent times state systems will tier 3 complaint or please don't respond. Both Tait, Hytera and to a less extend Simoco look to be doing a bit of damage to the sales figures of motorola here in Australia and New Zealand.

Now that tier3 standard has been more or less signed off as a based platform and more vendors play there it is starting to work agents motorola. For Motorola, this will be nothing more than firmware release and odd are an EID to activate, this may then put them back in the game for terminals supply.

Two more to add:

1. Multi-PL.
2. Real FPP capability. I have no idea what the current FPP mode is supposed to be about, but it looks like something that was shipped without being finished. Please finish it.

A Simoco Tier 3 system was recently sold in the DFW metroplex. Primary reason being, $16,500 for 6 Simoco repeaters and Simoco offered some voting and legacy options non-existent with Motorola.

My gripes from LAST YEAR...

They refused to take a bug report but instead asked me to submit a 'feature enhancement request'.
This still isn't fixed. What's the popular workaround, numbering your zones?

My negative experiences/feature wish list of my XPR 7550:

* Channel knob electric stop selection is needed.

* I also wish there was a control lock and TX inhibit instead of the lame keypad lock. And keypad lock sucks because it doesn't lock the P1 & P2 buttons ON THE KEYPAD. I want a lock button that will lock everything except volume. And preferably only unlocks via the menu + * method.

* Zone menu needs to go away immediately after you select a zone and get the green check mark.

* Low/High power display icon operation should be backwards. Only show the user a 'special condition' like being on low power, rather than high power as normal.

* AES still desperately needed, enhanced privacy sounds like ass.

* Update firmware for full support of HMN4104 display speaker mic. It's nice that volume display works and that it says 'Motorola' on the screen but lets take that last step, K?

* Home button? I can have a power up home channel but not one on the back/home BUTTON? I even get a good beep on a long press but nothing happens. (on the main screen)

* Soft power off would be nice.
