Has anyone noticed any weird issues with the first generation 800 MHz XPR mobiles? It seems the things will just not hold an alignment here. Been having customers radios come in by the dozens all with the exact same problem, out of alignment. Many of which are still under warranty. Mix of Con+ and Cap+.

When put on a monitor the reference oscillator is showing to be roughly 2-3 kHz off frequency (Motorola specs 40 Hz max). Haven't noticed any RSSI errors by more than 2 or 3 dB. Get it back on frequency and it'll affiliate and be happy for another 12-20 months.

Had a XPR4580 in the shop today that was 3.6kHz off. Have been seeing more and more the older they get.

Last Friday we had another dozen dropped off. All between 2.3 and 3 kHz off frequency. All still under warranty.

Motorola had sent 3 back from depot the week before…100 Hz off frequency and the RSSI cal was 24 dB off (injecting a -80 dBm signal, they were reading -104 dBm) which caused the radios to remain in roaming and not lock on a site (Connect Plus). The real kicker, I aligned all 3 before I sent them to depot and they just went to get their option boards replaced.

Are you sure you got the same main board back? The depot doesn't do much except pull a spare off the shelf and squirt your programming and serial number on it.

I didn't check. Only thing wrong with the radios was the connect plus option board.
