I have an XPR4550 that I converted from dash mount to remote mount. The radio worked fine in dash mount configuration with no issues. I have not changed any programming other than adding a few channels.

Now that it is a remote, I can only read/write through the GCAI port on the brick and I can't get any of my three microphones to work via the remote head. I thought there was a control head issue, so I swapped control heads with another radio, and same issue. Everything works except the microphone ports on the control head.

Before I invest too much more time/money in this, is there something obvious I am missing? Am I forced to use the mic extension cable with the remote kit?

The first gen TRBO mobiles like the one you have, require 2 separate cables with the head separation kit. Only with the Gen 2 mobiles did the remote kit abbreviate to using only 1 cable.

That's what I was afraid of, off to find a mic extension cable now.

Thanks!

I have only seen the 1st gen remote mount cables sold in sets, since both are needed - the 25 pin and the round one for the mic. The 3 meter set is PMKN4074 and the 5 meter set is PMKN4073.
