Do I need to put the XPR5550 into firmware update / Flashzap mode before I start the firmware update?

Does this involve connecting some links on the accessory socket?

Do I just run the firmware .exe file and then go into the main CPS and click on Device - Update?

When I run the firmware .exe file what actually happens before I go into the CPS?

I want to be clear what I need to do before I start!!

Thanks

Download and install the latest firmware and the latest CPS.

Connect the programming cable to the control head and attach it to the computer.

DO NOT place the radio in flashzap mode. Doing so could potentially erase the tuning partition during a firmware upgrade.

Follow instructions in CPS for upgrading firmware.

I'm using the rear accessory socket for programming - is this OK for firmware updating?

Just so I'm clear, does the firmware updating process start with running the firmware .exe file OR with clicking on Device- Update in CPS?

Rear accessory would actually be preferred from what I understand.

The firmware.exe updates CPS, so the radio gets updated when you select update in CPS, after you have updated CPS by executing the .exe.

Is that confusing?

OK - all is now clear - run firmware.exe to update CPS and then run Device-Update in CPS

Thanks
