XPR6500 and XPR6550 Random LOUD High Pitched Noise

Not that it matters much but what I have found is that it happens a lot more on my 6500 vs my 6550. It also happens on DMR channels vs analog channels. In fact i dont recall it happening at all on analog channel.

If I recall, I was parked on a digital channel also. Never happens on a CAP+ channel only conventional.

Sorry to report it has now happened on my XPR7550.
Had radio parked on a digital channel sitting in my cup holder in my truck. Was about to get out, set radio in lap and bam super loud annoying high pitched noise.
Was really hoping it was ONLY a 65xx issue.

The method Motorola instructed me to use was the "Recover" option in regular CPS and load the previous firmware. There is no issue rolling back using this method, however I am not sure how far back you can go. For me, reverting back to R01.12.13 solved the issue.

Your procedure would make an interesting weekend experiment if someone had the time. See just how far 'back' you could revert. My guess is probably one major revision only.
