The 3rd party board is for LTR, or other applications. You must remove the trunking flash, to make the radio conventional only, & then the radio will be able to do 902/927 ham freq's. That's why I have 2 6580's. 1 for trunking, & the other for 902/927. My friend removed the trunking flash for me, so I can't tell you exactly how to do it, but it didn't require anything special, other than CPS. GARY

Read your radio.
Uncheck the option board check box in each channel (you are viewing your codeplug in EXPERT mode, right??)

View attachment 7360

You then need to run the trunking migration tool available on MOL to convert your radio from trunking to conventional.

Once that is done, you should have a factory 900 conventional portable.

Once that is done, the radio works great in the 902/927 band. GARY

Thank you all for the help... But I was unable to get it done. I downloaded the MOTOTRBO Trunking_Portable_Migration and installed it. from the CPS 10 i go to Device>convert
and I get ( no matching package(s) exit.
I then gave the radio to a friend who works in a motorola shop and he wasunable to figure it out.
So I am asking if anyone can help me out. I will be in DAYTON in spots 1935 & 1936 or I could ship it to you. and of course we can talk $$
